Professional Profile
A physician from the Universidad del Norte Barranquilla and an Anesthesiologist from the Universidad de Cartagena. He holds a subspecialty in interventional pain management from the University of Puerto Rico (United States), is a Specialist in Prolotherapy (Space City Pain Houston Texas), and has a Master’s in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound.
He has extensive experience in pain management, with training in all techniques for its improvement, especially prolotherapy, having performed over 7,000 procedures in this discipline for pain treatment in the last 8 years. This procedure has a high effectiveness and nearly zero risk of complications, making it a great alternative to joint surgery.
In the United States, around 2 million joint replacement surgeries are performed annually, and in general, 25 to 30 million joint surgeries, both open and arthroscopies, are conducted. Studies show that up to 40% of these surgeries could have been avoided, as complications are observed, including chronic pain that becomes very difficult to control after surgery.
Surgery can always be done, but never undone. This is why he recommends undergoing prolotherapy treatment before considering surgical intervention whenever possible, as it allows the joint to regenerate naturally, without surgery, thus improving pain and mobility.
I also serve as a certified international instructor in Mindfulness and Kindfulness for Health and Stress (MBPM – Mindfulness-Based Pain Management or Mindfulness for health), accredited by Respira Vida Breathworks (Valencia, Spain) and Breathworks (United Kingdom), in accordance with UK standards.

Pain Consultation and Management
With a friendly approach, he explains his patients’ diagnoses and possible treatments step by step in a clear manner.
In the vast majority of conditions, there are solutions for pain. If the patient has already undergone blocks or surgical interventions, other highly effective options for pain management can be considered.
Prolotherapy
Prolotherapy is considered an alternative to surgery, a substitute for analgesics and anti-inflammatory medications, as well as for cortisone and other steroid injections. It is highly effective in treating chronic weakness of ligaments and tendons in joints such as knees, shoulders, elbows, ankles, wrists, hips, spine, among others.
It is a relatively new method in Colombia where weaker joints are injected with a proliferative solution that directly stimulates the growth, strength, and robustness of the tissue. Healing is expected to occur approximately 6 weeks after the treatment begins.
Prolotherapy has been successfully used by doctors worldwide for over 50 years to strengthen joints and alleviate pain. The saying, “a joint is only as strong as the weakest of its ligaments,” is very true. This technique has great potential for patients suffering from acute or chronic musculoskeletal pain. Only a physician trained in this technique can determine if this treatment is suitable for you.
Use of all interventional techniques in pain management
He offers pain treatments such as interventional management, peripheral nerve blocks, radiofrequency, spinal blocks, intra-articular injections, and muscle blocks guided by fluoroscopy or ultrasound.
He provides close follow-up on physical therapy, training patients in the correct execution of techniques, understanding that poor technique can sometimes worsen the pain.
In addition to procedures like prolotherapy, spinal cord stimulation, kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty, he also performs pump implants for delivering medication directly into the spine and cryotherapy for treating neuropathic pain or nerve injuries.
Suerotherapy
Suerotherapy is a modern medical technique that provides a fast and effective way to replenish the body with essential elements needed to function at its maximum potential, through the administration of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and other compounds directly into the bloodstream.
The primary purpose of suerotherapy is to optimize overall health and well-being, making it recommended for treating various conditions such as:
- Fibromyalgia
- Depression and anxiety
- Chronic fatigue
- Headaches
- Gastritis
- Osteoporosis
Additionally, it is a versatile medical resource that effectively complements conventional treatments, thereby enhancing their results. Therefore, suerotherapy can be implemented to:
- Strengthen the immune system and assist patients with recurrent respiratory conditions.
- Address the high intake of medications for conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, hypothyroidism, cholesterol, and obesity.
- Prepare the body for the recovery process before and after surgery.
- Facilitate detoxification.
- Support male revitalization.
